I don't deny the fact that I envy Singapore because the best bands around get to hold concerts there. While Singaporeans get the chance to see Coldplay, the less fortunate among us in Manila get a more than enough dose of washed up artists/bands as if they are STILL famous. The guy from Fra Lippo Lippi (minus his partner…wait, there's only the two of them, right) just had a concert recently. So did the Backstreet Boys not too long ago (wait, are they still around?!)

Not only concerts, though. Art and music festivals are a regular thing in Singapore, thanks to the government which must've recognize that indeed, art is food for the workaholic Singaporean soul. My hungry (and envious) writer's soul will try to get its own dose within the next few days as I haul my butt off there for the Singapore Arts Fest.

After a quick look online, I'm looking forward to see some bands, of course. Good thing there are gigs. I'm looking out for this Chinese post-punk band called Re-Tros (short for Re-establishing the Rights of Statue). I read Brian Eno raved about them after a visit to China.
